Vortrag und Diskussion – Eva

In the NerdCon community, engineering ethics discussions often focus on the topic of defence technology, utilitarianism and trolley problems. This talk was inspired by the graduate school course “Engineering Ethics” and is complemented by additional research. In line with common practice in medical ethics, ethical issues are presented and discussed using real or simplified problems. First, basics about engineering ethics are elaborated by means of real-life examples. Then, the approach “Design by Value” is illustrated with respect to modelling and simulation as well as information technology. Finally, all participants are invited to engage in a community discussion.
